PM Woodwind is very happy to welcome back saxophonist Adam Larson with his sax heavy quintet featuring Chris Madsen.
Adam Larson (b. 1990) is an American saxophonist, composer, educator and author currently residing in the Kansas City-area. Larson teaches music business, jazz pedagogy and applied jazz saxophone lessons at UMKC Conservatory, where he has been on faculty since 2019.
Jazz saxophonist Christopher Madsen is one of the most in-demand figures in the Chicago jazz world as a performer, composer, and pedagogue. A former faculty member at Northwestern University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and Midwest Young Artists, he currently coordinates the jazz program at Loyola University Chicago. He is a sought-after jazz clinician, adjudicating at jazz festivals and offering workshops to ensembles of all ages and levels from across the globe.
The first record from The Narrative Quintet, self-titled, “Narrative” features 7 original compositions and one arrangement.
Saxophonists Adam Larson and Chris Madsen will be joined by guitarist Scott Hesse, bassist Clark Sommers and drummer John Kizilarmut.
The group has a limited run of 50 cd’s that will be available for purchase at the event.
