PM WOODWIND POLICIES

 

Payment Methods

PM Woodwind accepts all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. We also accept personal checks, money orders, cashiers checks and international postal money orders. Please note that all personal checks, money orders, cashiers checks and international postal money orders may take up to 10 business days to clear our bank before we ship your order. We reserve the right to refuse a credit card payment if the billing address does not match the shipping address on the card.

The only accepted method of payment on international orders is a wire transfer.

 

Trial Policy

All new and used instruments purchased through PM Woodwind come with a 3 day trial period. The trial period starts from the day the instrument is received, not shipped. You assume total responsibility for the care of the instrument while it is in your possession. The instrument must be returned in the exact condition in which it was received. This means being extremely careful to avoid scratches and dents.

If the instrument is returned, you are also responsible for all shipping charges and insurance. The instrument must be packed in same box in which it was shipped or one of equal size and strength, and insured for the proper value. All returns will be subject to a 3% restocking fee.

However, if you decide to send the instrument back and trade it for another instrument of equal or greater value, then the 3% restocking fee will not be assessed. Only the additional shipping charges and difference in value. If the exchanged instrument is returned, then the 3% restocking fee will be assessed.

This trial policy also applies to most new and used necks and mouthpieces, including being extremely careful to avoid scratches and dents on necks, and scratches and teeth marks on mouthpieces.

 

Returns and Exchanges

Merchandise returns and exchanges must be made within 4 days of receipt. This means that the items must be shipped within 4 days after they are received by the customer. Upon receipt of your returned merchandise, we will refund the cost of your order minus the original shipping fees.

All refunds are issued by company check or credit card refund and are usually completed within 14 days of receiving the returned merchandise.

All returns or exchanges require prior authorization. Please email customer service at contact@pmwoodwind.com or call us. We also request that you include a signed letter including your invoice number and a brief explanation as to why the item is being returned.

Please make sure all items are carefully packaged and fully insured. PM Woodwind is not responsible for uninsured packages. Refunds can only be processed for items that are returned in their original condition. This includes any security seals or fatory shrink wrap that has been broken or opened.

If PM Woodwind made an error in filling your order, please email us within 4 days of receiving your package and we will arrange to have a replacement package sent out as soon as your package arrives.

Refund Policies

PM Woodwind will exchange any defective product, that still exists, with a brand new replacement in accordance with our Returns and Exchanges policy stated above. The item must be returned in otherwise new (mint) condition and must retain all of its factory packaging and printed material in original, unaltered condition.

New and used instruments, mouthpieces, and necks may be returned or exchanged within 4 days of receipt of the item. We here at PM Woodwind fully understand that you must personally play test an instrument, mouthpiece, or neck before a final decision can be made.

In accordance with the Trial Policy listed above, the following applies:

If the instrument, mouthpiece, or neck is returned, you are also responsible for all shipping charges and insurance. The instrument, mouthpiece, or neck  must be packed in the same box in which it was shipped or one of equal size and strength, and insured for the proper value. All instrument, mouthpiece, and neck returns will be subject to a 3% restocking fee.

However, if you decide to send the instrument, mouthpiece, or neck back and trade it for another item of equal or greater value, then the 3% restocking fee will not be assessed, only the additional shipping charges and difference in value. If the exchanged instrument, mouthpiece, or neck is returned, then the 3% restocking fee will be assessed.

Merchandise listed under Accessories must be returned within 4 days of receipt of the item.

All refunds are issued by credit card or company check. However, you may request a store credit. If a store credit is requested, a PM Woodwind Gift Certificate will be issued for the customer to use at their convenience.

Please note that a refund will only be issued if the instrument, mouthpiece, or neck arrives back to us in the same condition that it left our store. That means no new dents or scratches, or teeth marks in the mouthpiece. All accessory items must be returned in otherwise new (mint) condition and must retain all of their factory packaging and printed material in original, unaltered condition.

PM Woodwind Warranty

 

Used Instruments

All used instruments purchased from PM Woodwind come with a 6 month warranty. This includes a full professional setup. Some instruments have been repadded or overhauled (please refer to the section of our site that fully describes what is included in a PM Woodwind repad or overhaul) here at PM Woodwind if necessary before sale. Any repadded or overhauled instrument will come with a 1 year warranty.

 

New Instruments

All new instruments purchased at PM Woodwind come with a 1 year warranty. New instruments also come with a factory warranty that applies to all aspects of the instrument including lacquer or plating wear and any mechanical problems. Many times we can totally replace a new instrument if one of the factory warranty items is covered. We at PM Woodwind will always do our best to honor your request as to either fix the instrument or replace it with a new one.

 

Warranty Terms and Limitations

The PM Woodwind warranty is expressly limited to the replacement of instrument components that are defective. In the case of a finish imperfection or flaw on a new instrument, this may include replacing the entire instrument. If the instrument component is defective within the terms of the warranty, PM Woodwind will furnish a replacement component at no cost. No shop charge will be accrued by you. However, the customer is responsible for all shipping charges. If only minor adjustments are needed and we know a competent technician in your area that we trust, we will ask them to do the work for us so you do not have to worry about shipping your instrument.

The PM Woodwind Warranty is applicable under conditions of normal use. It does not apply to defects that are a result from intentional damage, abuse, neglect, misuse, mishandling, exposure, or unreasonable use. Defects not included under this warranty include, but are not limited to, dents, bent or broken keys or rods, torn pads, or any other damage deemed to be abusive by PM Woodwind. It is at PM Woodwind’s sole discretion to determine if a defect is covered under this warranty.

 

Shipping

PM Woodwind will only ship to street addresses. We cannot ship to PO boxes so be sure to give us the proper information before we finalize your order.

All orders shipped within the United States, Canada, and Mexico will be shipped from our location using standard ground service through UPS, FedEx or USPS. International orders will be shipped by the carrier of your choosing. Usually USPS is the best, but sometimes customers in other countries wish to choose their own shipper. We will honor this request whenever possible.

Shipping cost varies greatly and is calculated by the type of service that is chosen, along with the size and weight of the box and the insured value.

Here at PM Woodwind, we pride ourselves in knowing how to pack your instrument properly and with care. However, shipping carriers will inevitably find a way to damage a shipment. Once a package leaves our store, we are at the mercy of the shipping carrier.

Any package shipped from PM Woodwind will be fully insured. However, it is your responsibility, as the recipient of the package, to file a claim for any damages incurred during shipment and to demonstrate negligence or mishandling on the part of the shipping carrier.You will need to file the claim. For help in gathering information to file the claim, please contact PM Woodwind at contact@pmwoodwind.com. or call us at (847) 869-7049. We will gladly help walk you through the process and help in any way we can. We strongly recommend filing a claim within one week of receiving the damaged package. Although PM Woodwind is not responsible for merchandise damaged during shipping, we want to help and resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

If your merchandise is damaged during shipping, please do the following:

Save the original box and all packing materials. Do not tear off any shipping labels or tracking numbers. Be prepared to take photos of the box, packaging material, and the merchandise itself.
