PM Woodwind is very happy to welcome back Grammy award-winning alto saxophonist, composer and author Jim Snidero ,with his trio, for a Performance and Masterclass
Jim Snidero Trio with Peter Washington and Jason Tiemann
To mark the 40th anniversary of his debut recording as a bandleader in 1984, saxophonist Jim Snidero set out to create something special with his 28th album—and his second trio project to date. Fresh off the success of For All We Know (Savant), particularly the standout track “Parkers Mood”, Snidero felt the time was right to pay tribute to Charlie Parker, an artist he regards as “the king of the hill.” Ranked among the top five alto saxophonists in Down Beat’s 2024 International Critics Poll, Snidero is more than qualified to honor one of the bebop pioneers with his new release Bird Feathers (Savant). For his 2025 Midwest tour, Snidero will feature two of the best jazz musicians on the current New York scene. Peter Washington is the most recorded bassist of his generation, including Herbie Hancock, Art Blakey and Tommy Flanagan among others, and undoubtedly one of the best in jazz history. Originally from Louisville, Jason Tiemann has quietly entered the top tier of NY drummers, working with some of today’s best and brightest jazz musicians.
Jim will be playing the new Morgan Kind of Blue alto mouthpiece, copied from the actual mouthpiece Cannonball Adderley used on that iconic album. He will have mouthpieces in various tip openings for attendees to play and purchase after the event. Learn more
